How to get into Ashina Reservoir in Endgame? ›

Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice

The place that's set ablaze is 3 years in the past. You cannot get to the reservoir from here. The reservoir is in the current timeline of the game. Go to ashina castle bonfire, go left, go into the building and jump.

The secret passage can be found at the end of the moat in the Ashina Reservoir, not far from the Moon-view Tower.

Ashina castle idol, take left side with a samurai fighting a ministry dude. Drop down and open the door to the reservoir.

Since you can't seem to get back to Ashina Castle via normal means, and the Shinobi Shortcut from the Dilapidated Temple has been ominously sealed, you'll need to find a new way in. Even the Ashina Castle Gate has been locked - which means the only access to the castle is via the Abandoned Dungeon Entrance.

You do not have to fight him.

You have to fast travel to the abandoned dungeon entrance idol and dive into the moat (there's a grapple point there) and dive underwater, and swim into the tunnel to get to the other side.

You have to get two Great Serpent hearts so you can feed them to the Divine Child, who will act as a cradle for Kuro when you sever his immortality, meaning no-one has to die.

Some locations in the world of Sekiro cannot be opened by normal means. In these situations, one must find a Key to open that which is locked. The Hidden Temple Key can be used in the Hirata Estate region to gain entry to the building.

If you haven't already, you can find easy access to the Abandoned Dungeon just to the left of the Ashina Castle Sculptor's Idol, by crossing the bridge over the Reservoir and taking out the Taro Troop Brute and his Attack Dogs (use the Loaded Spear and you can rip out his armor).
