MultiVersus Jason Vorhees Guide: Costumes, Perks, Moves & How To Unlock (2024)

Jason Vorhees has joined the growing roster of MultiVersus, and he has a lot of new strategies and a frightening combat style. He is one of the top-tier characters in MultiVersus, and as he is a Tank class he can take a fair few hits before getting Rung Out. There are a lot of good ways to utilize him, and players will have a lot of fun on the other side of the slasher film playing as Jason Vorhees.

With the full launch of MultiVersus came several new characters. This included both Jason, the Joker, and Agent Smith as the newest members. With this emphasis on villains, they also have some similar themes, as one of Jason's costumes is a Matrix-style costume. This adds a new layer of universes crossing over and fighting for glory across the multiverse.

How To Unlock Jason Vorhees In MultiVersus

Battle Pass Prices

MultiVersus Jason Vorhees Guide: Costumes, Perks, Moves & How To Unlock (2)

Jason Vorhees can currently be unlocked as part of the Battle Pass. He is the first unlock you receive as part of the Premium Season 1 Battle Pass, which must be paid for with Gleamium currency. This means players will likely have to spend real money to get Gleamium.

This will likely change with time, and players of the Open Beta were given the Season 1 Battle Pass for free, so it should be fairly easy for anyone who has it to unlock Jason. If you want to wait for a more wallet-friendly way to unlock Jason, you might be waiting until Season 2.

Season 1 runs from May 28th until July 23rd for anyone hoping to earn the extra rewards.

Jason has some very thematic moves and is quite the intimidating figure on the battlefield. Most of his moves are themed around him tanking damage and giving it back. He also has a Mist Step ability to mirror this villain's powers in MultiVersus.

Type Of Attack

Effect

Dash Attack

Run forward, using your shoulder to tackle anyone in the way.

Axe Slam

Normal Ground Neutral

As you move forward slowly, you can slowly charge an axe.

Fear the 13th

Normal Ground Side

You make a 3-Hit combo that lets you grab and toss your opponent away.

Crunch Time

Normal Ground Up

You can charge up a devastating (and gruesome) attack that launches your opponent into the sky. The animation shows Jason smashing a bed in half.

Normal Ground Down

Another charge attack that makes a ground-shaking stomp that also sends enemies skyward.

Normal Air Neutral

You swing your axe through the air, slicing as you go.

Normal Air Up

6 Feet Under

Normal Air Down

You plunge downward, this time using your fist to pummel opponents to their doom.

Unstoppable Rage

Special Ground Neutral

You channel your rage to trade self-inflicted damage for gray health. Any allies you have also receive a small amount of gray health as well. While your rage is still active, you will be able to move faster and deal more damage, as well as having your knockback boosted. If you make an attack or all your Gray Health is gone, you are no longer enraged.

Mist Step

Special Ground Side

You use the mist to teleport forward. Any opponent near the mist is forced to back away with force.

No Escape

Special Ground Up

You swing the axe upward, catching your opponent, before slamming them back down.

The Slasher Special

Air Neutral

You grab the opponent and stab or slash them.

Air Mist Step

Special Air Side

You step into the mist and teleport forward. You can angle upward or downward if you wish.

Immune to Knockback while you have Gray Health.

Jason Vorhees Costumes

Space Jason Joins The Fight

Right now there are four main variants of Jason that exist in MultiVersus. The first is the original skin from the Friday the 13th movie. Also included is Uber Jason, Matrix Code Jason, and Tooniverse Jason, so that no matter where he goes, at least he always fits in. The Tooniverse Variant can be purchased in the game store, but the other two Variants are only available in the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Tanking Through Damage

With all the Perks and abilities in mind, here are a few tips for piloting this new character in MultiVersus:

  • Do not ignore Unstoppable Force. It is one of the best parts of playing Jason and can either completely ignore an attack or give you a large boosted attack against an opponent.
  • The Special on the Ground is able to catch opponents who spend a lot of time in the air to avoid the much slower, heavier Jason.
  • Sweet Dreams can be very punishing if you miss, so it is better to put it in the middle or end of a combo as opposed to starting with it.
  • The Up Special and Air Up attacks are both great options for making KOs. Don't ignore them if you get an opponent in the air.
  • Keep opponents in the air and forcing opponents away from you in order to charge up to get the bigger moves without getting punished for it.
  • Jason may be slower but his Signature Perk Monstrous Sidestep and his Mist Step ability can make up for this. Particularly if you can knock opponents away from you it will really help boost your game.

And those are a few tips and tricks to make Jason Vorhees a truly undefeatable character in MultiVersus.
