Corona 919s are known to be problematic, I would research the 929 and see what results others are getting. Also plug the tail servo direct into the RX bypassing the zyx to be sure it responds. If it does then take one of the cyclics and plug it into the zyx where the tail servo should go and test.

Can't find specs on ds480. Check the frame rates of the servo. The zyx can be picky when it comes to servos.

You may well be right about the DS480. Worked fine when the model was fb, but not now.
Tried a different servo on the ZYX and it all started working. The servo I tried was a DS20, so full size.
Obviously not going to fit on a 450, so i pinched a Hyperion DS12 off another model.
That worked ok.
Set the rest of the parameters with that, just had a try at flying it, results not so good.
Model seemed under control ok, but hopping and jumping about. Looks like an interference problem.
Anyway, suspended operations for the day, with the model in one piece.
Have fitted a spare receiver and will have another go tomorrow, weather permitting.

Do your research on the coronas. Last week I swapped in Solar 654s replacing corona 919s for a friend and it flew like it was on rails. I've used 654s and get good results on cyclic. For the tail I use an HK scm9-5.

Hi Guys

Thanks to your help. ZYX-S now running well, on John_nz's excellent software.
I understand this can not be used for programming the S2, is this right?
If so, I would have to somehow download Tarot software, and I am having major problems with that.
I am no computer expert but the results I am getting are downright weird.
So, download both from HK and the Tarot site gives me a zipped file. When I try to unzip it, i get a VLC media player screen.
Doesn't play anything, just sits there.
Any ideas why?

OK, quick update

Managed to unzip the file, now got 15 separate files.

Obvious one to open is this one, ZYX4.0_EN.exe but when I try I get this message
'program can't start because AppFace.dll is missing'.
So try to open AppFace.dll and I get this message
' this program does not have a program associated with it for performing this action'.
As you can probably tell I am to computers what a plumber is to brain surgery.

Anyone help?

What unzip programme did you use to unzip the PC software from HK and Tarot ? I used WinRaR to unzip. 7-zip will work too.

After you downloaded the PC software from either HK or Tarot, you should get a file called "ZYX-S2 PC software.rar. Winrar or 7-zip can unzip the file to a folder. The unzip folder will contain the following files or folders:
driver - (folder)
imageformats - (folder)
language - (folder)
libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll - file
mingwm10.dll - file
QtCore4.dll - file
QtGui4.dll - file
sys.ini - file
Upgrade Instructions.pdf - file
ZYX-Assistant1.1.exe - file

ZYX-Assistant1.1.exe is the PC software to setup zyx-s2.

"driver" folder contains Windows 7 and Windows XP USB-serial drivers. I am using Windows XP so I ran the ZYXUSBdriver.exe to install USB-serial driver in my laptop.

I don't understand why your PC would open VLC media player when you unzipped the ZYX-S2 software downloaded from HK or Tarot. Please check the file extension of the downloaded file. It should be xxxx.rar (from Tarot), and xxxx.zip from HK website.

For HK website, you need to download 2 .zip files: Tarot ZYX Windows Drivers and "Manual and Downloads".

VLC media player only recognize video format files, not zip or rar files....

Out of the 15 "files", 4 of them are folders not files.

Have you installed the driver yet ? I assume that you have appface.dll in you zyx folder. What version of your windows are you using ? When I double click "zyx4.0_EN.exe", I got the PC setup program main window.

Seem to remember you helping me before, that was until I took the easy way out and installed John-NZ software.

Anyway, I used 7-zip, and get some folders similar to yours and plenty not.
I get:

These are exactly the same in my ZYX4.01EN folder. As I stated in last post, I double clicked the ZYX4.0_EN.exe to get the setup software windows. I am using windows xp.

I also installed zyx-s and zyx-s2 setup software (downloaded directly from Tarot) in both windows7 and windows 8. No problem at all.

Hi

See what you mean, the first four are folders.
Each time I try to open any of them I get this message
'This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel'
Same message with AppFile.dll

I am using Windows 7. Can't install the driver because of this message.
Not even sure if I have a ZYX file, let alone have AppFace.dll in it.

Yes, honestly, I am that dense, lol.

That error message from Windows was related to your windows setup, nothing to do with zyx-s or zyx-s2 program. It is because you were trying to open a folder not a file. Somehow, your windows treated a folder as a file. It did not know what to use to open a folder.

Thanks for your help.I went through the procedure in your link, but couldn't see anything to use to open a folder. I did associate a program with opening .dll files, that seemed to work, but all I got was gibberish.
Concerned about going any further. I do not know what I am doing, and I might upset something else by accident.
Time to call this a dead end.
Looks like I might have to continue using ZYX-S so I can program with John's software.

Looks like I have lost the usb to serial driver I used with John's software. I have installed it, repaired it, re-installed it, but my computer will not tell me where it is, or which com port it is connected to (if at all).
Before, on the home page of John's software I had a choice of Com1 or Com3.
The usb driver was connected to Com 3 so all I had to do was select this, and connection was almost instant.
Now, I only have Com1, and can't find the driver to move it.

Looks like I have messed something up.

I patched the ZYX Droid 4.01 app for use with the CX-3X1000 yesterday. I changed the serial prompt / response to use 7F 0F (CX) instead of 7F 2F (ZYX) and changed the resource pictures to show the CopterX ones.

I am still waiting for the Tarot Bluetooth interface to arrive to test, but I expect it will work. I also need to know if there are any other parameter differences between CX and ZYX or if that is all that is needed. I am attaching the app if anyone wants to give it a try. I used EasyApkDisassembler.V1.3.2 to disassemble, and then rebuild/sign the app. You can disassemble both this app and the ZYX to compare the differences. It runs fine on my DNA. Can't wait to try it with the Bluetooth interface!

I was unable to crossflash the CX, and unwilling to accept that I could not use the android app with the Bluetooth interface I ordered!
